Thanks to Chris Stone and Lynn Fortie for setting up a place for Councilmembers to blog about events in the city and current issues. I look forward to using this tool to help communicate with those of you who are interested in learning more about issues facing our city.
On August 10, 2007, while placing my biography as a candidate for Riverdale City Council, I stated that one of the purposes of my campaign was to increase the access and information going to and coming from the city council and the Riverdale residents by announcing a blogspot. I applaud the city for taking the ball and running with it. This weblog will be a great way to keep the citizens involved. My question for our current city council is “Why aren’t you using this tool?” The first message was left on Sept. 3, 2007 which was more than one month ago about a campaign and a second message expressing thanks for this weblog. There have been at least two council meetings since then.
If elected, I will use this tool to keep the residents of Riverdale informed as well as find out their thoughts on the issues that affect their lives.

I’m with Alan, where are your comments? The Council members and the mayor should have something posted at least monthly. Or don’t you want us to know what your’re doing?

START TALKING TO US!!! Del and Alan we need to light a fire under our elected officials. There is so much to talk about. Propery issues, Tax increase issues, and so much more.
